Sherif Shoieb, PhD, RPh, APA, Morinville Shoppers Drug Mart | Pharmacist

Join local pharmacist Sherif Shoieb for an open, practical, and judgment-free conversation on erectile dysfunction and men’s health.

Sherif is a prescribing pharmacist with Shoppers Drug Mart Morinville and holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Alberta. He is passionate about men’s health education and regularly supports patients with concerns related to erectile dysfunction, cardiovascular risk factors, diabetes, medication management, and preventive health.

Committed to creating a comfortable and informative environment, Sherif helps men have more open conversations about their health while accessing trusted, evidence-based care.

This session will help normalize the conversation around ED while providing clear, accessible information about common causes, treatment options, and simple steps that can make a real difference. Expect practical takeaways, real information, and an approachable discussion designed to make men feel more comfortable talking about their health.

Al Hamilton, Edmonton Oilers Legend | Prostate Cancer Survivor

Al Hamilton isn’t just part of Oilers history—he helped build it. As the first captain of the Edmonton Oilers, he played a key role in shaping the team in its early years, earning the respect of fans and teammates alike. His impact was so lasting that his jersey became the first number ever retired by the franchise.

These days, Al brings that same steady presence to something even more important—men’s health. After facing prostate cancer himself, he’s become a strong voice for awareness and early detection.

Al brings a real, down-to-earth perspective you won’t get from a brochure. He’ll talk about his experience with prostate cancer, what it was like to go through it, and what he wishes more men knew.

Expect an honest conversation, a few stories along the way, and practical takeaways that stick. It’s the kind of talk that makes it easier to pay attention to your own health—and maybe start conversations you’ve been putting off.

Health Fair Panel Interviews

Camille Scheible, Director of MAN VAN ® Program

Panel Conversation: Real Experiences in Men’s Health

This session will be led by Camille Scheible, Director of the MAN VAN ® program, who will moderate a panel of men sharing their personal experiences with prostate cancer and other men’s health challenges. We sincerely welcome and appreciate Les McElwain & Terry Kirkland, who volunteer with MAN VAN ®, Bill Santrock from Morinville Rotary Club and one of our own Men's Shed members, Cecil Mackesey!

Through guided conversation, the panel will speak to what it’s really like to face these issues—the impact on their own lives, their families, and what they’ve learned along the way. It’s an honest, grounded discussion that brings real voices into the room.

This is a chance to hear directly from those who have lived it, ask questions, and take away insight that goes beyond information—something practical, human, and worth carrying forward.

Camille Scheible, RMT, MLA, brings nearly two decades of experience in healthcare, with a career defined by leadership, teaching, and a deep commitment to community impact. She currently serves as Director of the MAN VAN Program at the Prostate Cancer Centre, home to Canada’s first men’s mobile health clinic. In this role, Camille leads efforts to bring accessible health services directly to communities, helping to break down barriers to care and challenge the stigma surrounding men’s health and proactive testing.

Annual Vision

Men’s Shed Wellness Week is intended as a long-term, annual initiative. By establishing a consistent November rhythm aligned with International Men’s Day, the Men’s Shed intends to build recognition, trust, and community expectation year over year.

This annual event supports:

  • Sustained partnerships with health organizations, municipalities, and sponsors
  • Predictable planning and funding cycles for all
  • Growth in attendance, membership, and volunteer engagement
  • Expansion to include additional wellness or educational events in future years

This approach positions the Morinville–Sturgeon Men’s Shed Club as a stable community anchor for men’s health, connection, and prevention-focused wellbeing.

Thank you for helping strengthen connection, health, and wellbeing for the men in our communities
