Join The Shed

The Shed is built on connection, shared experience and makes the Shed work is members contributing in their own way. This form helps us get a sense of your interests, strengths, and where you might naturally fit in.

All information is held in strict confidence and is to allow us to be safer in our work and in cases of emergency.

I recognize that the activities of the Morinville Sturgeon Men's Shed Club I will be participating in may have some inherent risks. I knowingly and voluntarily assume the risks of engaging in activities. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to be aware of the risks associated with any activity and to safeguard my own person by ensuring the following: 

    • That I physically able and capable of doing the activity. 

    • That I exercise safety measures appropriate to the activity. 

    • That I do not participate beyond my capabilities. 

    • That I will voice any safety concerns and will use the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the activity. 

I understand that the Sturgeon Agriplex, where the Morinville Sturgeon Men's Shed Club is located, is only providing our shop/work space. I hereby release any facility and staff in it's entirety, the Morinville Sturgeon Men's Shed Club and it's participants from any liability arising out of my participation on the property. 

I understand this waiver is in effect for the duration of your participation at any Morinville Sturgeon Men's Shed Club activity or event, within the work space or outside of it, in any other location.


By becoming a member of the Morinville Sturgeon Men’s Shed Club, you agree to:

• Support a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all

Our Values
• Treat everyone with respect, fairness, and dignity
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
• Act honestly and with integrity
• Work together for the benefit of the Shed, not personal agendas
• Respect privacy and keep personal information confidential

Respectful Behaviour
All members are expected to:
• Be courteous to other members, volunteers, and the public
• Listen to others and allow everyone a chance to speak
• Offer feedback respectfully and constructively
• Recognize and appreciate each other’s contributions
• Speak up if they see behaviour that does not follow this Code

The Shed will not tolerate:
• Bullying, harassment, or discrimination
• Abuse, threats, or violence
• Any behaviour that puts others at risk or undermines the Shed community

Safety and Responsibility
Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Members agree to:
• Use tools and equipment safely and as instructed
• Keep workspaces clean and free of hazards
• Report unsafe conditions or damaged equipment immediately
• Follow all Shed safety guidelines and procedures

Participation may be limited if safety cannot be reasonably ensured.

Integrity and Accountability
Members will:
• Act in the best interest of the Shed at all times
• Avoid conflicts of interest or personal gain from Shed activities
• Not seek or accept special favours or advantages
• Follow all Shed policies, guidelines, and bylaws

Inclusion and Access
The Shed is open and welcoming. We do not discriminate based on race, age, disability, religion, or background.
Some participation limits may apply for safety reasons or where additional support is required.

Confidentiality
Members must respect the privacy of others and:
• Keep personal or sensitive information confidential
• Not share information without permission

Reporting Concerns
Members are encouraged to raise concerns about behaviour that does not align with this Code.
Concerns can be brought to a Board member or designated representative.

Breach of Code – How Issues Are Handled
The Board will respond to concerns in a fair, timely, and respectful manner.
Actions will depend on the seriousness of the situation and may include:

Minor Concerns
• Informal conversation or reminder
• Verbal or written warning
• Request for apology or corrective action

More Serious Concerns
• Formal meeting with the Board
• Written record of the incident
• Conditions placed on participation

Serious or Repeated Breaches
• Suspension or termination of membership

All decisions will be made in good faith, with the goal of maintaining a safe and respectful Shed environment.

I consent to the capture of photographs and/or video recordings of me during Men’s Shed activities and events. I understand that these images may be used in promotional materials, including the organization’s website, social media, and other communications. (Please let us know if you prefer not to be photographed.)

Confidentiality - The information you provided is kept within our organization and will not be provided to any other agency, organization or entity.
