Live Edge Wood & Resin Table

Some projects bring more than one group together—and in doing so, carry a little more meaning.

This 2’ x 4’ live edge wood and resin table is one of those.

One of our members, experienced in working with resin, Bruce Wallace, led the pour as a hands-on demonstration for others. It’s a process that requires patience and precision, and sharing that knowledge is part of what makes the workshop more than just a place to build—it’s a place to pass skills along. The table has been commissioned by Joe Dwyer of the Rotary Club, who will be donating it to the Morinville Fish and Game Association for their Brag Night silent auction. It’s a project that connects three organizations through a shared effort and a common purpose.

Within the Shed, it’s also been an opportunity to learn.

The table is now moving into its final stages. Joe and Bruce will complete and finish the top and add legs for the final assembly.

Projects like this reflect what happens when a simple request can allow skill, generosity, and community overlap to turn into a lesson. What starts as an idea becomes something that supports a wider network, reaching beyond the Shed itself.

The Morinville Fish and Game Association’s Brag Night, taking place April 18, 2026, is already sold out, and we’re looking forward to seeing the table become part of the evening. More details about the event can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/morinvillefishandgame/

This item was made for demonstration and learning purposes only and is NOT for sale by the club, however if you’d like to support the Men’s Shed and the work we do in the community, many of our other handcrafted items are available for purchase through current inventory or custom order.
