Historic Country Outhouse for Namao Museum
Planned build and installation: June 2026
Some projects are less about function—and more about bringing a place to life.
In ongoing conversations between the Men’s Shed and the Namao Museum, a new idea emerged: to add a historically inspired country outhouse to the museum grounds. A simple structure, but one that reflects daily life from another time and adds to the overall experience of stepping into the past.
This project is intended to evoke memory, curiosity, and a sense of how things once were.
The Men’s Shed and Namao Museum will be working together to source materials and build the structure in a way that reflects the historical period of the museum, dating back to the 1800s. Care will be taken to ensure the design feels authentic to the time—less about modern efficiency, and more about historical accuracy and character.
Construction and installation are planned for June 2026, adding another point of interest for visitors exploring the site.
Projects like this offer something a little different. They invite people not just to see history, but to experience it in small, tangible ways.
