Bottle Depot Bins for Morinville Rotary Club

Some projects come together quickly—but still leave a lasting mark.
Over the course of two days, five or six of our members rolled up their sleeves to design, build, and paint a pair of custom bottle depot bins for the Morinville Rotary Club. Rotary generously covered the cost of materials, while the Men’s Shed crew contributed the labour, tools, and shared workspace that make projects like this possible.
It was the kind of effort that reflects what the Shed is all about—collaboration, practical skill, and a good sense of camaraderie. There’s always a bit of problem-solving, a few laughs, and the quiet satisfaction of seeing something useful take shape.
The two completed bins are now in place at the Morinville Bottle Depot, where they’re already being used regularly by the public. It’s a simple addition, but one that supports both community recycling efforts and Rotary’s ongoing initiatives.
And this is just the beginning—plans are already in motion to build two more bins later this year, designed to be mobile and ready for community events.
Projects like this don’t just produce something functional—they create connection, purpose, and a shared sense of contribution.
