Spring Show & Sale 2026

A Weekend of Conversation, Craft, and Community

Men's Shed Morinville/Sturgeon

We spent the weekend at the 2026 Spring Show and Sale with the Morinville Chamber of Commerce.

It was a good couple of days.

We met a steady stream of people from Morinville and Sturgeon County. Some had heard of the Men’s Shed before. Others were stopping for the first time, curious about what it is and how it works.

There were a lot of conversations. Some quick, some that lingered a bit longer. A few laughs along the way.

That’s often how this starts.

Sharing What We’ve Been Building

We brought along a selection of handcrafted items made by our members.

Small builds, practical pieces, things made with care and attention. The kind of work that comes from time spent in the shop, learning, sharing skills, and working side by side.

For many who stopped by, this was their first real look at what happens inside the Shed.

It helped make things more tangible.

Not just talk, but something you can see and hold.

More Than Just Projects

What stood out most wasn’t just the items on the table.

It was the interest in what the Shed offers beyond that.

A place to go.

Something to do.

People to talk to.

We heard that more than once.

Some men talked about wanting to stay active. Others were looking for connection, or a way to get out of the house and be around others without pressure.

That’s what this has been growing into over the past couple of years.

Finding a Way to Take Part

There’s no single way to be involved in the Shed.

Some people are drawn to the hands-on work.

Some are interested in helping organize or support events.

Some just want to come in, have a coffee, and see how things feel.

Most move between these over time.

That’s something we’ve been paying closer attention to. Listening to members, understanding what they want from the space, and how they prefer to take part.

As we grow, we’re getting better at matching people’s skills, interests, and experience with opportunities that make sense for them.

No pressure to do more than feels right.

At the same time, the Shed works because people contribute in ways that come naturally.

Come Check It Out

If you’re curious, you’re welcome to stop by.

No membership required to start.

Your first three visits are free.

Come in, have a look around, and see if it feels like a good fit.

That’s usually where it begins.
